Last night I sent out a notification from a travel agent whose web page is
accessible through one of the genealogical sites recommended to me. They
periodically send me notification of travel specials they have. Yesterday I
received a very interesting looking one for NYC-Shannon RT and thought I´d
share it with readers.
Today a person was asking what was going on and thought it was spam. I
apologize if this posting was incorrect. I simply wanted to share the
information to travel enthousiasts and persons who may need a bargain-rate
flight to Ireland for whatever their interests.
Problem I have had with the Rootsweb connection is that my messages get
received in duplicate and triplicate sometimes. Also, I receive in
duplicate and triplicate. This phenomenon has been reported by other
listers and rather fully discussed in the past. Helpful readers have shared
ideas as to the problem and its solution. However, there does not seem to
be a ready answer or solution. So the delete button for the extra messages
becomes the preferred way of dealing with this.
But this message I sent was not spam. I apologize to any of you who
received it in duplicate or triplicate and who would prefer not to get this
kind of information. It occurs to me that "netiquette" would say that such
notices not be sent out by listers because of hte load they could cause and
then become a nuisance. Last thing I would want is to be a nuisance rather
than a contributor or user.
Again, apologies for any problems or misunderstandings.
