For your back burner, a Bingham from Chelsea, VT., came to Canada a
wee bit after 1800 & set up a trading store about 20 mi. N. of Ottawa at
what became, Chelsea, QC. He had been a reasonably close neighbour of
Joseph Smith's family & Mormonism found preachers in this area early on
-even before the original trek to Utah. I think this Bingham was Thomas,
but memory .....
