Hello everyone,

I have found the free 1890 Boston street directory very helpful in my
research. Ancestry.com
will offer it for a little while longer. Under MURPHY BROS.they have a
listing that I find intriguing about a family business. The address is 42
Franklin Street. An address that is still
significant for me over 100years later. Can anyone tell me how to research
this entry further
to see if and how it might tie into my family history??
My great grandfather John MURPHY was a famine immigrant who probably
arrived as a
child. He was born @ 1833. His wife was a Mary nee BRESNAHAN whose parents were
Patrick and Abigail SHEA. John was a teamster and eventually all the sons
had some
experience with this line of work. The sons were Jeremiah, Daniel, Michael,
and John F.
The daughters were Abby, Elizabeth, Ellen, Mary, and Nora. John MURPHY Sr.
had a
brother Daniel Born @ 1844 and he was a printer. Hope that some of this
information rings
a bell. If not can anyone help me research this 1890 entry in the BOSTON
DIRECTORY?
Thanks in advance!
