Hello,

At last, someone with a lot more know-how than I discusses my problems.
In my most humble opinion and admitting that I cannot fathom (nor do I want
to) the workings of the professional genealogical mind:
I have trouble with both Ancestry.com and Genealogy.com. They BOTH promise
so much yet give so little. I became member of Ancestry because they
promised access to certain data. However I still could not access. I would
have had to become a member at a higher level or something. I wrote this up
to experience and vowed never again to pay them a penny. Is there any way
to "shake up the management" at Ancestry and Genealogy so people like us can
access information AND that they be forced to sell honest-to-goodness
products PROPERLY ADVERTISED? I really believe they want to sell
low-quality products at exorbitant prices to NEW searchers with the attitude
"there's a sucker born every minute". In other words they rely on the fact
that there are more and more new people searching all the time.
In my humble opinion, these are very slick rip-off artists.
Disillusioned
Yolanda
