We are looking for info on Robert Andrew Jam(i)eson, born 9 Sept 1856 at
Grimister, The Herra, Yell, Shetland Islands, Scotland to Robert Jamieson
and Janet (Jean or Jane) Margaret Ingram Thomason (or Thompson).

This family moved to Monkwearmouth, Sunderland, England about 1860-1861.
We have not yet been able to locate him in the 1881 census, so he may
have come to the US in 1881 (before the census was taken) with his
brother Thomas. Or he might have come earlier. Thomas entered the US in
Galveston TX on 5 Feb 1881, but ship records for that period were lost
(natch!) in a hurricane.

Thomas went right to Boston, so Robert might have already been there.
Thomas was my husband's grandfather.
