I'm investigating the thread that our family roots are connected to County Tyrone and the small townland of Meenagar, parish of Dromore, west Tyrone. They were John and Jane Boyle, grandparents of my lineage, Michael Judge Jr. (Michael Judge Sr. married a daughter Ellen? Boyle) who married Catherine Menchen. This latter couple emigrated to Nova Scotia, Canada around 1840 with many of the Boyle family.

John Boyle was born about 1760, Jane was born around 1764.

"Jane Boyle, of Tyrone, Ireland, was responsible for the introduction of
the
Boyle family name to West Caledonia, Nova Scotia, Canada. Besides a
daughter, Ellen, who was the
wife of Myles Corrigan, a son named Thomas settled in the area with his
wife, Isabelle Bradley, in 1840. Her brother Dennis also came to the area.
With them came a nephew of Jane Boyle, named Michael Judge, who married
Catherine
Menchen. Mrs. Boyle herself came to live in West Caledonia well after she
was sevety years old, and was buried in the Catholic cemetary there in
1870. She was 106 years old at the time of her death. This lady's
descendantys are now known to exist all over North America. In the
Caledonia area, her lineage extends into the familes of Boyle, Canning,
Hawkes, Farrell, Corrigan, and perhaps others, now untraceable."

We are trying vainly to trace our JUDGE lineage to Ireland. This is the
latest and most intriging thread. Basically, ichael Judge came to West
Caledonia, Queens County, Nova Scotia, Canada around 1840 with his aunt
Jane Boyle. We have them both being born in Ireland in 1826. They were
married in Nova Scotia, probably at Sr. Jerome's Catholic Church, West
Caledonia, Nova Scotia.

Catherine Menchen's mother was born in 1797 in Carlow, Ireland as well as
Catherine's brother, Patrick Menchen in 1816. They both died her in West
Caledonia, Nova Scotia.

Other immigrants at this time were Jane Boyle's brother Dennis Boyle, her
son Thomas Boyle and daughter Ellen Boyle.

Any chance someone could point us in the right direction. We feel we're
soooooooo close!

Thanks all,

Malcolm Uhlman, Kingston, Nova Scotia, Canada
