Hi Bozeman Researchers,
Today, while searching the 1880 United States Census at the local FHC I came upon the following:
Last Name/ First Name Relation Birth Race Sex Place of Birth Census
Bozeman, Sam Self 1843 W M GA AL
Bozeman, Samuel Self 1853 W M AL AL
Bozeman, Samuel Son 1861 W M AL AL
Bozeman, Sam other 1879 B M AL AL

Surles, Crenshaw, AL FHL Film 1254009 National Archives Film T9-0009 Pg 378B
Sam BOZEMAN Self M M W 37 AL AL farmer
Anna BOZEMAN wife F M W 28 AL AL housekeeper
Alena BOZEMAN dau F S W 8 AL AL

Since I am researching the parentage of Alma Clifford Bozeman (b. 10 Nov 1872, Mt. Carmel, Crenshaw County, AL; d. 26 Oct 1954 Gulfport, Harrison, MS; buried Saucier Cemetery, Saucier, Harrison Co., MS) , I'm wondering is the above her family? Could the census taker have listed Alma as Alena? I have Alma's death certificate and it fits that in 1880 she would have been 8 years old. Death certificate also lists her father as Sam BOZEMAN & mother as ______MOSELEY ( I do know her mother's name was Texana Moseley.

Thanks for any help anyone might give.
Sharon Patterson
