Just a heads up.... to all, not just Bradford surname.
If you're already in a Surname Project with FTDNA, there is now a link on your personal page so that you may join the National Geographic 'GENOGRAPHIC' project for a very small fee. (I haven't figured this out but for some a SNP test might be required to confirm haplotype.)
If you haven't joined a surname project, you can join the 'Genographic' project and then transfer your results to a FTDNA Surname project. http://www.familytreedna.com/ftdna_genographic.html
Your personal benefit will be that later you'll be able to see how your personal results fit into the overall picture of the Genographic study. The Genographic project will benefit by your results enhancing their study, the surname groups will benefit by a larger database, and in this case you could also benefit by matches within your surname genealogical projects. [The Nat. Geographic project is solely to address deep ancestral origins & migratory history. The Surname Groups address Genealogical interest and more recent timeframes.]
Both the male Y-DNA test is offered, good deal because it seems to have a SNP test included for some, and the MtDNA for females, less expensive than the regular test. DEALS!! Anyway I understand that about 40,000 folks have already joined National Geographic project. I'm uploading my mtDNA results today.
Regards,
Becky
