Reference: 1661 The Free and Voluntary Present, Thomas Brelsford Gentleman paid 10 shillings. Reference: 1670 Hearth Tax, Stainsby taxed for 4 hearths.

2. Ann2 Brailsford (Thomas1) was born in Sep 1664 at North Wingfield, Derbyshire. She was baptized on 12 Sep 1664 at North Wingfield, Derbyshire. She married John CLAY, son of Francis CLAY and Ellen (--?--), on 14 Jan 1685 at North Wingfield, Derbyshire.

FILE [no title] - ref. 157 DD/P/61/26 - date: 7 Jan. 1686/7; [from Scope and Content] Henry, Duke of Newcastle to Thomas Brailsford of Ankerbold; John Clay of Tupton, both par. Northwingfield, yeoman and James Brough of Northwingfield, husbandman: for 21 years at £8 rent:-- coal delf in Grassemore Common, par. 5. John3 CLAY Gentleman (Ann2Brailsford, Thomas1) was born in Feb 1689 at Egstow, North Wingfield, Derbyshire. He was baptized on 25 Feb 1689 at North Wingfield, Derbyshire. He married Corrina Farr, daughter of Cornelius Farr Gentleman and Miss Powell, on 14 May 1723 at St Alkmunds, Derby, Derbyshire. He died in Dec 1749 at Ault Hucknall, Derbyshire, at age 60. He was buried on 15 Dec 1749 at Ault Hucknall, Derbyshire.

He left a will on 19 Oct 1749.

He died circa 1774 at Hardstaff, Derbyshire. He was buried circa 1774 at Ault Hucknall, Derbyshire.

Both signed. Reference: 15 Sep 1765 Witnesses were Thomas Clay and John Downing. Reference: 15 Sep 1768 Ault Hucknall Prs: John Clay and Mary Hill married this day 5 Dec 1758 by licence. Reference: 1774 MI: Floor Slab, C6; CLAY. He left a will on 13 Oct 1774.
