Reference: 1661 The Free and Voluntary Present, Thomas Brelsford Gentleman paid 10 shillings. Reference: 1670 Hearth Tax, Stainsby taxed for 4 hearths.

5. John3 CLAY Gentleman (Ann2Brailsford, Thomas1) was born in Feb 1689 at Egstow, North Wingfield, Derbyshire. He was baptized on 25 Feb 1689 at North Wingfield, Derbyshire. He married Corrina Farr, daughter of Cornelius Farr Gentleman and Miss Powell, on 14 May 1723 at St Alkmunds, Derby, Derbyshire. He died in Dec 1749 at Ault Hucknall, Derbyshire, at age 60. He was buried on 15 Dec 1749 at Ault Hucknall, Derbyshire.

He left a will on 19 Oct 1749.
