David Wayne Braswell's Query
My name is David W. Braswell and I am seeking information on a certain
Dempsey Braswell born around 1807, probably in Tennessee, but possibly in
Alabama or North Carolina. His family moved from Tennessee to Kentucky
around 1841-43 and from Kentucky to Illinois around 1848-50. The 1850
Jackson County, Illinois census shows Dempsey as a resident with an age of
43. His offspring at the time were Robert, age 12, Nancy, age 11, and
Jacob, age 9, all born in Tennessee, and William, age 7, Armintha, age 5,
and Martha, age 2, all born in Kentucky. Any info. you may have would be
much appreciated.
