Dear Listers: Here is a discussion item for the List: Knowing that "my loving friend John Riggs" witnessed the Richard Towle Will, and wanting to see for myself what other Towle(s) might be in the area, I found a Henry Towles next door in Accomack County, VA, who married Ann Stockley in 1668 in Accomack. Ancestry.com gives other names which are probably their children--who stayed in the VA coastal area. I didn't take the time to look at each of the entries.

There are also Towles listings in the OneWorldTree but my subscription does not cover that area. If you have a subscription and would like and share with the List, that would be great. In the search results for "Towles in Virginia from 1650 -1700", a Robert Newsom came up, birth Surry VA, death 1757 Southampton VA, so it appears that a Towles married a Newsom and you know the Newsom family is connected to the Bracewells/Braswells. Again, I do not have a subscription to that section and could not look any further.

So, the bottom line is: Could the Richard Towle in Isle of Wight, VA, with Will dated 5 "9ber"(?) 1692 be connected to the Towles family next door in Accomack County, VA.

Something else I just noticed: I printed out the Towle Will from Foy Braswell's website. The Will was signed in 1692 but proved in court for probate in 1682? Is there a typo?

One last question: Did Richard Towle own any real property? I see the appraisal of his estate on Foy's website, but my memory says he owned, or was given, some property adjacent to the Bracewells.
