There is the oscillation Leowe-/Leode-: Leowegild/Leodegild. The initial
element appears in Leode-gonde, Leodegúndia. Then derives Leode-sind >
Lovesendo. In this case, meaning of the name is `way (Sind) of the people
(Leute).'
(Please review the files for my evolution on this name: originally I
wondered whether `Love; wasn't from Chlodweg, and until recently I
thought that the ending was a kind of participial, adjective ending - it
sounds so in Portuguese.)
Notice that Lovesendo/a is attested both near Coimbra (Lovesenda) and
certainly near Oporto.
