Subject: Jacob Myer, 1723-?, Washington Co. MD

Excuse the repeat if somebody has already called attention to
the article by Emmert Bittinger (member of this list) on "The Jacob
and Varena Bowman Family, Brethren Pioneers of Maryland and Virginia,
Part II", appearing in the October 1997 issue of Mennonite Family History.
Superior research with exceptional documentation as befits a history prof!!
Included in the article are comments about Jacob Meyer/Meier/Myer and
his sister Dorothea Myer. Dorothea married Morris Milhouse and their
daughter, Susanna, married Jacob Bowman, JR.
I'm particularly interested in this Jacob Meyer; Emmert writes that
he (Jacob Meyer) was baptized as an infant in Muttentz, Switzerland, and
then baptized again in the Conestoga Brethren Church in 1743,
and owned land in Washington County, MD, beginning in 1754. Does any reader
know what happened later to Jacob Meyer/Myer and his family?
I'm particularly interested if any of his descendants migrated
to Preston County, Virginia (now West Virginia) where my gg grandfather,
Daniel Myers (Brethren Minister) (who so far "lacks" any ancestors
in my records) lived ca 1830's to after 1880.
By the way, if interested in this issue of the Mennonite Family History
(Or the July 1997 issue which contains Part I of Emmert's article),
you may send $5.00 for each issue to Mennonite Family History,
