Richard: I presume the graveyard you referenced in your message of 22
September was located on Cold Spring Road in Rapho Township. My son visited
the place in the early 80's and found it in sad condition then. He located an
elderly WERNER who led him to the site. Mr. Werner, who then was about 90,
told my son that the farm on which the graveyard is situated had been in the
family for several generations. The Werners purchased the land from the
Eshlemans, he said. (Probably John Eshleman.) My son made several photgraphs
of the burial plot, but only one headstone could be read, that of an Elizabeth
Eshleman. It is doubtful that a list of burials exists for that graveyard.
The Eshlemans were indeed part of the Mastersonville church. In addition to
that, Barbara Eshleman (2 July 1783--8 February 1870), daughter of Heinrich
Aeschlimann and Barbara KENDIG, married Thomas MASTERSON, who founded
Mastersonville.
