Hi Daniel,
All good questions Dan, but:
As we all know, families floated back and forth from generation
to generation and even members in the same family went their own
way. So who is to say what is in and what it out. In the past
the Brethren Network users have controlled their own queries and
it has worked out just fine. In the case of the Quakers, if they
changed church they were out of the records. But we Brethren extend
our cable-tows a bit farther <g>.
So far I not noticed anyone objecting to any of the queries. I
have see people, for example, letting others know that they will
have better luck placing their United Brethren queries on a
Methodist list-server. There are a lot of researchers that do
not know that the United Brethren roots have nothing to do with
the "Mack" Brethren. But we have accepted these queries and some
times explained the difference. No harm done.
To most people it makes good horse-sense not to look for polar
bears along the equator. But again, to others a bear is a bear
and it doesn't make any difference where you look for it <g>.

I will ask that if they do they direct their messages to Dan's
private e-mail address <>
and help prevent some of the users wondering if their queries are
Ok or not. Thanks!
