Barbara Hill,

Abraham Rothrock has an article in The Brethren Encyclopedia . "1798-1870,
elder and Kansas pioneer. Rothrock was born in Northumberland Co., PA. He
married Mary Beashor of juniata Co., and moved in 1858 to Kansas, where he was
probably the first Brethren elder. The Rothrocks had five sons and three
daughters. During the drought of 1860 Rothrock solicited aid from the eastern
congregations. In 1863 he was shot and left for dead by William C. Quantrill's
guerillas, following their destruction of Lawrence, KS. rothrock recovered and
remained active in the Washington Creek (Pleasant Grove) congregation until
his death, Feb. 6. CSA
