Was interested in the Kansas COB - My husband's gggrandfather was John
LAIR, who was the son of David LAIR and Susanna GARBER and was b in VA.
He m Catherine BOWMAN in Wash. Co., TN. They came north by train about
the end of the Civil War. And I mention this because he always were
traveling by train after this. John was in Clermont Co., OH, then
Huntington Co., IN and then to Missouri, I am not sure where and lastly
to Kansas. He was a preacher and possibly died about 1899.
What I would like to find out is when and where did John died. He went
with the COB that the time of the division, but I found info that he was
with the Progressives by 1883/84. One son Joseph B. Lair died c 1899 at
Olathe, KS.
Ggrandfather Henry Taylor LAIR m Deborah GROSSNICKLE in Clermont Co., OH
and had four children of whom the three sons moved to Preble, Mont. and
Clark Co, OH.
Thanks, Bonnie Layman Lair
