I know there has been considerable discussion in the past year on the
Brethren migration to Kansas. A recent post to this page implied that
one of the reasons for this migration was because of internal splits
within the Brethren groups.

In researching my family, I found that within one family, some of the
siblings became Brethren in Christ, others became Old Order River
Brethren, and still others became Church of the Brethren. The family
name was Nohrenhold/Nornhold, and the Church of the Brethren siblings
moved to Morris County, Kansas. Was this movement from Lancaster
County, Pa. a result of splits within these groups? I would appreciate
any comments on specific reasons for this migration.
