In my memory, the Owl Creek Church of the Brethren is not the same
church as the
Ankenytown Brethren Church. I visited the area a couple years ago to
find the burial site of my G-G-G-Grandfather John Long married to
Susannah Leedy. There were doctinal difficulties in this church in
relationship to the Footwashing Service and a number of families left
the OWL CREEK congregation and started or joined with the Brethren
Church in Ankenytown. My G-G-G Grandfather was buried in the
Multzbaugh/Ridenour Cemetery as a result of the divisions. These little
tidbits may give you some insight into why it may be difficult to find
information. Good hunting.
