Subject: Schmidt/Smith (and Shively)

I've got some Schmidt siblings, some of whom became Smiths. I don't have
parents for them, nor do I know what happened to any of their descendants
except my own branch. They were Brethren, and my branch stayed Brethren.

Ludwig Schmidt b 17--?? and died 11/1/1821 married Esther Shively
Schmidt/Smith.

His brother David Schmidt/Smith (again, no birthdate) died 10/2/1821. He
married Barbara Shively, a sister of Esther Shively Schmidt/Smith.

Sophia Catherine von Groote Schmidt, their sister, was born 3/21/1752 in the
cloister of Saint Catherine in Frankfort on the Main. She married Esther &
Barbara's brother Christian Shively III on 10/1/1773 and died 2/5/1821. They
were in the Buffalo Valley/Mifflinburg area of PA. I believe this is Union
County.

I do not know where the Schmidt/Smith siblings of Christian and Catherine
Shively went. Nor do I know whether their descendants were Schmidts or
Smiths. It would be interesting to know. Do these folks belong to any of
you Smith or Schmidt searchers?
