I'm interested in finding a cemetery record in St. Clair Co., MO. The
info that I am looking for concerns a burial in the Oak Grove COB
cemetery. It has been confirmed by the Brethren Archives that there is
such a place, but they don't have the obit indexed for the time period
that I need. I need to know if there was a burial for a John B. Lair or
possibly just J.B. Lair about 1880 or possibly as late as 1888. His wife
Nancy is buried in that cemetery and she died about 1916-1919.
John Lair was a 'traveling preacher' in that part of Missouri. I believe
that there may two books on the History of the Brethren in Missouri. One
is on North Missouri and the other may be West Missouri.
John was married twice, first to Catherine Bowman and they had 9
children. Secondly to Nancy Thacker whom he married in Clermont Co., OH.
Thanks, Bonnie Layman Lair
