Subject: Marsh Creek name [connection to Little Cove?]

Is the name 'Marsh Creek' from the name of a person- Mr. Marsh, or
because of nearby marshes?
I haven't confirmed any Brethren Connections, but have run across a
string of interesting coincidences lately.
John EDDEY [AIDY, AYDEE, EDDY, EDIE] moved from Woodbridge NJ to 'the
Marsh Creek settlement' sometime after 1736. [he had come from
Scotland 30 years earlier- which is a huge hint as to why the name
EDDY gets written as AIDY in some records].
Probably about 1745 Andrew PRIOR [PRYOR, PRIER, etc.] m. Polly MARSH;
An EDDY genealogy states that one of John's daughters [Meriam?, or
Mary Ann?] married Elias STILLWELL & moved south to the MD/PA border.
Meriam is buried in Hancock, MD-- just south of Franklin Co., PA.
For some unknown reason, I clicked on the list of folks in the Little
Cove history that someone had posted to the COB site-- and there I
found an AIDY & a PRYOR!
My PRYOR/AYDEE connection begins on Staten Island in 1808, where
Andrew PRYOR b.1782 m. Catherine AYDEE in the Episcopal Ch. They
don't seem to baptise any of their children there, though. And the
next generations associate themselves with the United Brethren
[Moravian] Church.
While I'm looking for the _History of Little Cove...._ by Foreman,
does anyone on this list have it that would be able to see which AIDY
& PRYOR folks are listed?
Thanks,
jim
btw- the COB site that I mentioned is;
http://www.cob-net.org/genchurch.htm
Well worth a look-- nice site.
