I have been having trouble tracing my Dillow ancestors back from about
the 1830s in Wythe Co. VA.
Family tradition says that the Dillows were Irish, but I am beginning to
have doubts.
I have found Palatine Dillows (Micheal Hartman (Dells) Dillow Married
Anna Margaret Holthauser.
I have also seen a ships (the Samuel) passenger lists with a Dillow
listed carrying Palatines.
I wonder if there is any link between the Dillows of Rowan Co., North
Carolina, that moved to Pa, thence to Union Co,
Illinois, and the Wythe Co, Va group, some of which moved to Greenup Co.
Ky.
Were there any Brethren Dillows? Were there Brethren in Wythe Co?
Merle Rummel provided some wonderful information on my Shinkle and
Metzger ancestors, and I am wondering
If the Dillows were part of the same migration.
