Subject: What are these about, anyway?
Date: Sun, 13 Jun 1999 16:05:21 EDT
I have a copy of a transcription from Michael Buechele's Bible. I'm sure
it's also a translation from German. Michael's family became the Beeghlys,
Bicklys, and no doubt a few other versions. I'm wondering about the birth
signs given the first 6 children, not to the last 5. Michael came here from
Germany, was apparently Amish for a while, then Brethren. Anything similar
to astrology seems very odd at that time and place. Anyway, here goes...
12-10-1766 the sign of Winter
6-26-1768 the sign a triangle, infinity sign with a plus sign at the
bottom, a V (or U)
1-19-1770 the sign of a Scorpion, the sun passing the sign of the
Waterman
10-27-1773 her sign is Thunder
6-29-1775 Cancer
2-17-1778 her sign is a Scorpion and 8(or infinity) an odd-looking 4 and
the symbol for female
The children born from 1780-1789 were not assigned signs..(no, I would not
accept that juxtaposition of words in any student writing!), so it might
reflect a change of policy with a change of religion. Does anyone out there
have any ideas?
