Does anyone have information on possible German Reformed Lutheran churches
in east Tenn?

I would love to hear more about the history of Brethren of East Tenn. or
for someone to tell me where to look for this information.

Dear Ferne Baldwin,

What is the time frame of your inquiry. Brethren have been in east Tennessee
for more than 210 years.

First Brethren that I positively know of coming into Tennessee [was
Washington District of North Carolina at that time] arrived in 1789/1790 --
led by the BOWMANs.

It is possible that the folks from Dunkards Bottom (presently under waters of
Claytor Lake in Pulaski Co VA) came into the part of NC that would become
Tennessee just about the time of the French and Indian Wars -- about
1754/1755 -- but I still do not have adequate evidence to prove it. It does
seem that they did not move directly to east Tennessee -- probably arrived
sometime after 1765..

I have more.

Lonnie
