Hi, I'm new to this list. I believe my ancestors may have been members of
this Church, and I'm trying to confirm that.

My grandfather remembers his older relatives (HIS grandfather's generation)
in the 1920s or 30s wearing old fashioned clothing, black hats, bonnets and
and having a "simple" lifestyle like the Amish.

Emmanuel FLORY was b. 1776 in Franklin Co PA, married Sarah KAZA in Somerset
Co PA in 1797. Emmanuel and Joseph FLORY moved to Madison Twp, Montgomery Co
Ohio in 1807, the first of a large group of Germans from Somerset and
Franklin Counties to move there.

Emmanuel's son Abraham FLORY b. 1807 m. Lavina KINSEY in 1828 and they had
13 children in Montgomery Co OH. Many of the family including their daughter
Barbara FLORY (b. 1843) and her husband Thomas P. WARNE moved to the area of
Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas in the 1860s.

I was interested when I saw that these locations, including Lawrence,
Kansas, are closely tied to the Church of the Brethren.

Does anyone recognize these family names or have a connection? Thank you for
any help.
Kelly
