To get an accurate DNA from a hair sample it must have a bit of the "root"
at the end.
A long time ago I saw a "flower wreath" made out of hair woven around thin
bits of wire and beads. This wreath was encased in a ornate wooden frame
and glass. I think it was a popular custom in the Victorian era. I too
have some hair samples of relatives. My mother saved my long braid that I
had cut when I was 10 years old in 1960. It was quite an event as it was my
first hair cut! Carol
