Bob - this is what I had before your note - I did change the name from
George Snyder to Snider so as to eventually make them one family - but
maybe it should be Snyder to conform to the the cemtery note?
Descendants of Nancy Wilkins
Generation No. 1
1. NANCY1 WILKINS (JAMESA, JAMESB) was born March 21, 1810 in
Virginia, and died March 5, 1881 in On the Plank farm. Buried:
Scofield/Eversole Brethren cemetery.. She married (1) JOSEPH PLANK
1831, son of ADAM PLANK and CHRISTINA. He was born March 22, 1807 in
Hopewell Township, Perry County, Ohio, and died September 23, 1846 in On
the Plank farm. Buried: Scofield/Eversole Brethren cemetery.. She
married (2) JOSEPH SNIDER 1855.
More About JOSEPH PLANK:
Fact 1 (2): Son Nathan is the source.
Fact 2 (2): 1883 Perry County, Ohio County History by E.H. Colburn
compiled by A.A.
Fact 3 (2): Graham . Page 507
More About JOSEPH SNIDER:
Fact 1 (2): nearby farmer
Children of NANCY WILKINS and JOSEPH PLANK are:
i. HANNAH2 PLANK, b. 1833; d. 1869, Eversole Cemetery; m. WILLIAM
SCOFIELD, Abt. 1854; b. 1830; d. unknown.
Notes for WILLIAM SCOFIELD:
We know there was a William Scofield because he is named on Hannah Plank
Scofield's tombstone as her husband (in Scofield cemetery - later
called Eversole). [Perry County - Hopewell Cemeteries - OGS Volume 2,
1989] This stone was read in 1981 or perhaps earlier - by the time we
visited the cemetery this stone was not be found.
ii. MARY A. PLANK, b. January 23, 1836; d. March 26, 1862, Hopewell
Township, buried in Schofield/Eversole Cemetery; m. JOHN MILTON CLARK,
1853; b. May 22, 1826, Fayette County. Pennsylvania, near Uniontown.;
d. October 1, 1889, Hopewell Township, buried in the old section of Mt.
Perry cemetery..
Notes for JOHN MILTON CLARK:
His middle name, Milton, was well known by his son, Elmer, who told his
son, John W. Clark, that John Milton was named after a Poet Lauerate -
the Poet Lauerate has not been confirmed, but the middle inital "M" is
on his tombstone and is always to be found on land deeds.
He was a Justice of the Peace with the middle name Milton in 1875 and
also in 1885.
On his first wife's stone she is refered to as Mary A. Clark, w/o John
M.
We think he may hve been Brethren when he married his first wife and
until about 1875 - but then he is Justice of the Peace and was probably
not Brethren aafter 1875.
More About JOHN MILTON CLARK:
Fact 1 (2): Inherited his first wife's share of her father's farm. This
70 acres in the

Elijah listed Rhoda as his first daughter in his will. Rhoda
Schofield married George Snider in 1825, when George, born 1800, was 25
years old. If she was 21 when she married she was born about 1804.
Bess Swinehart gave this information to Barbara Jones, who reported it
in :
Jacob Snider Family Cemetery, Hopewell Township, Perry County.
Perry County, Ohio Hopewell and Madison Township Cemeteries, Volume
2, 1989. It was published by the Perry County Chapter of the OGS P. O.

She was no doubt named after her mother Rhoda, Elijah's second wife.
........ +George SNIDER Born: 1800 Married: 1825 in Hopewell Township,
Perry County. (CAN YOU TELL ME HOW THESE TWO MIGHT BE RELATED?)
George and Rhoda Schofield Snider lived on the Seeger farm 1829 to
1874. They sold the farm to Bernard & Elizabeth Swinehart and relocated
to near Manchester, Ind.
Jacob Snider, born 1802, a brother, was a Brethren minister. Jacob lived
on the Gene Hughes farm, but he apperently buried so many Brethren on
this hill top farm of his brother's that his name was given to
cemetery.
Daniel Snider bought this farm, later called the Seeger farm, from the
congress in 1805 and later deeded it to his son George. There is a
cemetery, called Jacob Snider Family cemetery on the Seeger hilltop. It
is located in the southeast quarter of Section 27 in Hopewell Township,
Perry County. About 400 yards south of Twp Rd 76 and east of Twp
road 68 on top of the hill. In recent years the property was owned by
James Seeger, Sr.
The source of this information concerning the cemetery and those buried
there is :
