<< Can anyone tell me where to obtain marriage records from the German
Baptist Church in or around Yellow Creek, Bedford County, PA. I would like a
record of the marriage of Samuel Whirl (Whorrel) and Catharine Batzel on Oct
9, 1884 >>
In a booklet entitled "Yellow Creek German Reformed Church Church Records
1843 to 1868" by James D. Boor, 3181 Brumbaugh Road, New Enterprise, Pa.
16664-8661 he mentions the baptism of Catharine R. "Baitzel", daughter of
Christian & Rhoda "Baitzel", on Sept. 8, 1866 who had been born on Jan. 30,
1866 by Rev. A.R. Kremer.
Other children mentioned were Christiana(b. July 28, 1864; bz. Dec. 11,
1864 by Rev. Kremer) and George William(b. Jan. 5, 1868; bz. Aug. 1, 1868 by
Rev. W.W. Hoffmeier). There is also a Jacob "Baitzel" baptized on April 3,
1847, son of John and "Christiann" "Baitzel", by Rev. M. Irvine.
This booklet is available privately from the author at the above
mentioned author and I have nothing further to offer on any other contents
nor do I have any other info.
