Dear Menkay, I noted your post and inquiry about the Lichties. I also am
interested in them. Do you have plat maps or precise locations for the Lichty
homesteads and farms near Salisbury PA? I am assuming the locations are close to
Peter Livengood' s place, but have never actually been to the place. Where is the
"Lichty Cemetery?"
John Lichty was married to Elizabeth Miller, d/o Peter and Elizabeth
(Gaver--Not Garber). She was born May 25, 1771. Peter Miller owned land at
Burkittsville, Md. the home of the Arnold, Ludwick, Nicholas Leatherman, Biser,
and other families who moved to Beaver Run in W. Va. Zachariah Arnold of Beaver
Run had married Elizabeth's sister Abigail, born Jan 8, 1770. Elizabeth and
Abigail had a brother David who married into the Livengood family, thus, the
Livingoods and Lichties had close fellowship in Somerset County and lived near
each other in the Salisbury area.
