There were New Light congregations in Owen, Monroe counties, Indiana
and I'm sure other adjoining counties. Many years ago a Rev. A. T. DeGroot
published a book about Christian Churches in Owen County with many
wonderful lists of members, deaths, etc. The Owen County Public
Library at Spencer owns a copy; I was never able to obtain one for
my own use. My Greenwood ancestors (descendants of originally Gruenwalds
or other variant spelling from Pa. and Maryland) were listed in this book.
But
a great many Amish, Mennonite, Brethren surnames disappear from the
county records after a time. It would take some study to determine the
year/years of arrival and departure of those who didn't stay.
