Anna,

I don't see where anyone has replied to your query of Feb. 20. I'm
not really the person to do this, since I have little if any direct
information for you, but here are some suggestions:

1. Request an obit for George W. Cripe, Cerro Gordo,IL, minister.
There's almost certain to be one, and it will very likely give you
his parents' names. Then you'll know whether the two GW Cripes are
the same person.

2. Be cautious -- and very clear -- in explaining family
relationships. Part of what you are telling us is difficult to
understand. It helps to give us dates and locations whenever
possible, even if they are "about" and "thought to be" rather than
completely detailed, because there are just SO MANY Jacob and John
and Daniel Cripes that we are dealing with. For example, I have an
ancestor Jacob Cripe who died in 1900. However, he appears not to be
the one for which you are searching, because he was the son of Daniel
Cripe, Jr.

3. Be patient and keep asking related questions. Again, there are SO
MANY Cripe ancestors that we have trouble keeping all the lines
straight. Perhaps the person who could answer your question was busy
and didn't read it carefully, but if you wait a few weeks, and post
something similar, he/she may recognize the relationship and provide
you with info the next time.

Best regards!

JS
