Craik's History of the Brethren in Kansas has an "S P Weaver" on pages 89 &
216.
Page 89 turns out to be the middle of a story of founding of "The Aged,
Infirm and Orphans' Home" at Booth, Kansas in 1890. Craik says Booth is
"now Darlow". S P Weaver's name appears in the list of men who served as
superintendents of the home. The entire chapter deals with Brethren
philanthropies in Kansas.
The entry on page 216 appears under the entry for Pleasant Valley (Rush
County) congregation. S P Weaver had a 10-day series of meetings in
January 1909 and in the summer of 1909 he conducted services for members.
The only Wertz listed in the index to this book is J B who appers on 93, 179,
222, 224, 389. There are two Werst listings, both on 207. There are a
few other Weavers in the index.
Hope this helps.
