REPLY FROM EMMERT BITTINGER
Melanie, the parentage of Elder Christian Myers b. 1751 is written in
several Brethren history books (Sappington, Brethren in Virginia and in the
History of the Codorus Church (not exact title) which was the home church of
the Brethren minister Elder Christian, b. 1708. This is not proof, of
course, but is evidence. Then, there is the will of Christian (b. 1708)in
York County. The will is titled Christian Maier, the Elder. The will names
sons, including Christian Maier, the younger. Do you have the Meyers article
published in Menn. Fam. History, January 2000? Emmert.

(Melanie's inquiry)
I've seen 3 parentages attributed to Elder Christian Myers (born 1751 -
married Barbara Burkholder), and the most common one seems to be that his
parents were Elder Christian Myers (1708) and Elizabeth Kauffman (1720). Is
there any proof of whom his parents are?
Melanie Ferguson
