I've been out of the Rootsweb lists for quite a while until just recently.
It used to be a no-no to send a "virus warning" to a list.
Computer viruses are just something that doesn't have any effect on anyone
other than those with little knowledge.
YOU CANNOT GET A VIRUS WITHOUT RUNNING AN APPLICATION. ie the file must have
an extension of .exe or an equivalent.
No virus can come via a text, graphic or html file.
If one runs an application with no idea of what it is, they're just plain
dumb.
I'm not trying to insult anyone, but Rootsweb is for genealogy and nothing
else. Please don't waste folks time and God's electrons by sending "virus
warnings".
