Fran,
The United Brethren denomination (as distinguished from the Church of
the Brethren) and The Methodist Church merged in 1968, so it is
likely that the successor congregation to the one served by your
husband's grandfather in Hutchinson, KS is one of the United
Methodist churches in that city. Perhaps the best place for you to
begin researching Mr. Russell is the General Commission on Archives
and History of the United Methodist Church (this includes materials
from the former United Brethren Church). At the commission's website
(www.gcah.org) you will find a link to genealogy, and instructions
about how to request information. Since Mr. Russell was a minister,
they should be able to give you at least some information about him.

Hutchinson Kansas at one time, when his father was in school, so probably in
the 1920's - 1930's - I am unsure of the dates. The church is no longer
there - I believe it is now a parking lot. Does anyone have any information
on the history of this church or on this man - Roscoe Russell? I would very
much appreciate any information that anyon might have.
