Subject: [BRE] Antietam: Price's Cemetery
Date: Thu, 3 Apr 2003 08:23:32 EST
In response to Pat N. Smith's request for information of the children
of John Shockey (1806-1859) and Catharine Monn Shockey(1808-1858) who were
possibly buried at Price's Meetinghouse Cem. in Waynesboro, PA.
I do not show record of the children Lydia, Catharine, Margaret,
Isaac, Abraham, Samuel, Martha, or David Shockey in Price's Cem. However, I
do have record of a Susanna who married John Rinehart.
Some of the Rinehart's buried at Price's Church Cemetery, Franklin
Co., PA:
Rinehart, John Aug 27, 1832- July 25, 1925 aged 92y 10m 28d
Rinehart, Susanna, wife of John Rinehart, July 24, 1834-Jan 10, 1901
aged 66y 5m 16d
Rinehart, Susanna Jan 12, 1862-Nov 23, 1832 aged 70y 10m 11d
There are approx. 30 Shockey burials at Price's until 1985 when my
records end. Earlier Rinehart burials include:
Rinehart, Lewis __-July 7, 1841 aged 67y 8m 13d
_______, Susannah Feb 20, 1779-Jan 22, 1852 72y 11m 2d
Rinehart, Daniel D. __-Dec 21, 1928, 81y 8m 8d, (a deacon of Antietam
Church and son of Samuel and Catharine Bonebrake Rhinehart)
The Mack Cemetery of Waynesboro, Franklin Co., PA has the following
Shockey burial:
Shockey, Mary S., daughter of Abraham and Mary d. Oct 30, 1862 aged
7y 11m 5d
Snow Hill Cemetery, Quincy, PA: The Snow Hill Institution
My Snow Hill Cemetery records do not show any Shockey's although they
may have been associated with the Institution-now called Nunnery. The Monn
family was closely associated with Snow Hill and there are many Monn burials
there as Mary Monn married David Snowberger who was b.1797.
