I could not find information on a Norman Burns in John T Reynolds book:
"From Scotland to America" -nor do we have it in our family collection. Our
family moved west from Virginia -and are only mentioned in the book. There
were other Burns families in Scotland and America. Some of the Pennsylvania
Burns seem to have been Brethren.

My mother's family, William Burns III, came from Virginia (now West
Virginia) to Ohio in c1840 with a cousin, William Burns. Both settled near
Springfield OH. I have done little work on the family of the cousin. My
grandfather, Harry Burns (grandson of William III), was a member at
DonnelsCreek Church -and his widow, and brother, were charter members of the
New Carlisle Church.
