Mike,
I have several lists of burials at Mumma's Cemetery. I do not have a
listing for a Margaret Pressel. I visited 5 cemeteries today in that
general area. I will be venturing out again tomorrow. I will keep you
posted when I find any Pressels. I didn't know that Sarah was married to
Henry Pressel IV. The other Utz generations are identical to what I have.
In the book of the Black Rock COB, it states that 120 acres of land had
been transferred to Michael Pressel. On the same date, June 29, 1798,
another 28 acres of land were transferred to Pressel. Michael Pressel's
neighbors were Andrew Miller and Christian Bucher, both of whom had married
daughters of the Rev. Hienrich Danner.
Our Henry and Maria Danner Hohf had a son m to a Franey. Their one
daughter, Franey m George Pressel. George is listed as a Brethren member of
the Upper Codorus Church at Black Rock Station on the line of the Baughman
Valley railroad. The Mummert family played a big role in the beginning of
this meetinghouse. I am wondering if your Margaret Pressel might be buried
at this location.
I am taking one of my tours tomorrow to Baughman Valley. Who knows what I
might find. I will keep you posted on any findings. It is very addictive
living so close to all of these churches.
Happy hunting!
