Apparently there were two Jacob Meyer/Moyers who were born c1760s in the
Bethel Townships area of Lancaster and Berks Counties. One was the namesake
son of Jacob Meyer of Bethel Township, Lancaster County. This family was
part of the Little Swatara Congregation of German Baptist Brethren.

The other Jacob was the son of John Moyer of the Bethel/Tulpehocken area of
Berks County. John Moyer, son of Rudolph Meyer, was married to Margaret,
who, as a widow, was re-married to a Shuy/Shuey.

I suspect that one of these two Jacob Meyer/Moyers married Magdalena
Hunsicker and the other married Barbara Brechbill (born 1771). Both women
were from Bethel Township of Lancaster County. The Jacob who married
Magdalena Hunsicker may have been the son of Jacob of Bethel, Lancaster,
inasmuch as his land and estate records place him squarely in that township.

The Jacob who married Barbara Brechbill may have been the son of John Moyer
of Bethel/Tulpehocken, Berks, inasmuch as the 1799 will of Anna Wolf Meyer
and various Brechbill genealogies seem to link this branch of the
Meyer/Moyers to the Brechbills and the Wolfs of Bethel, Lancaster. Some of
Barbara [Brechbill] Moyer's siblings moved to Franklin County, PA.

The Brechbills and Wolfs were very close neighbors of the Hunsickers and the
senior Jacob Meyer family in Bethel, Lancaster, which makes it so difficult
to sort out who married who.

The John Meyer/Moyer family lived a couple miles to the east of Bethel,
Lancaster, in Berks County. We do not know if this family was related to
the Jacob Meyer family of Bethel, Lancaster. Both families were Anabaptist
and had similar given names.

Does anyone know if there is a Wolf family record that includes
Meyer/Moyers, Hunsickers, and Brechbills?

MEYER, HUNSICKER, BRECHBILL

A Jacob Meyer married a Magdalena Hunsicker of Bethel Township,
Lancaster/Dauphin/Lebanon County near the end of the 1700s. A second (or
perhaps the same) Jacob Meyer married a Barbara Brechbill of Bethel
Township, Lancaster/Dauphin/Lebanon County near the end of the 1700s. Does
anyone know anything about either one of these two marriages?
