From The Gospel Messenger -- October 13, 1934

Strayer, Norman, born in Montgomery County, Iowa, June 2, 1878, died at
a hospital in Denver, Colo., Sept. 5, 1934. He was the son of
Christopher and Margaret Strayer who located on a homestead in the
colony when he was a child. Dec. 27, 1903 he married Miss Laura Ward;
his wife, seven children, three sisters and a brother survive. He was a
member of the Church of the Brethren for the past twelve years. Funeral
Services from the M. E. church in Norton by Rev. W. R. Deeter. Burial
in Norton cemetery. -- Mrs. Lizzie Miller, Norton, Kansas

Strayer, Laura Elizabeth, daughter of Jonas Henry and Orpha Ann Reager
Ward, was born Jan 10, 1883, in Norton County, Kansas and died Dec. 7,
1963 in Norton. In 1903 she was married to Norman Strayer, who died in
1934. Surviving are three sons, three daughters, twelve grandchildren
and two great-grandchilddren. She was a member of the Maple Grove
church, Kansas. The funeral services was conducted by George A. Merkey.

More Strayer info needed.Norman Strayer b ca 1880 married my great
aunt on my maternal side.Laura Elizabeth Ward.She was born 1-10-1883 in
KS but I know nothing of him.
