It appears to be a mal-formed piece of HTML code that didn't get
removed properly before the message was turned into "plain text." It
happens occasionally. In this case, it probably should have read:

&amp;&nbsp;

which stands for an ampersand followed by a forced space. [notice
that the series is four characters followed by a semi-colon]

Now THAT's REALLY going off-topic. So direct any further questions to
the original author, whose address appears in the quoted part below.
