In the MO records, I have two letters of transfer from folks belonging to the Bijou Hills, Brown County, South Dakota German Baptist Brethren church to a church in northern MO. Their letters were no.s 10 and 20 in the transfer book which may indicate that over a period from 1895 to 1899 at least 20 members could have transferred to other churches from there.
There is no mention of this congregation in the Brethren Encyclopedia. A minister from this group is noted as being in S Dakota in 1883 and 1888 and helping with organization of the Willow Creek Church near Frederick S Dakota of which W. W. Horning family and other Hornings were members in northeastern S. Dak.. This minister is listed as being from Byo, S. Dakota.
Another possibility could be if your family near Yankton were located close enough to the small church organization in Knox County Nebraska to have been members of this group even though they could probably not have been very consistent members as they would have had the large Missouri river to cross into Nebraska.
