I got Lechlitner from the Ancestry database of Indiana marriages, which
means Lydia's surname was misspelled on the marriage license. What a surprise.
The Winter 2004 issue of the Indiana History Society's _Traces_ magazine
has a feature story on the mint farmers of that area. A descendant of a
Lakeville family wrote the article about the Rouch family mint
farm. Apparently there were many mint farms from Lakeville to
Bremen. The farms are now dying out, but this must have been a common
type of farming for Brethren families in that area from the late 1800's
through perhaps the 1970s.
Audrey Mikel's siblings were Merle Raymond, Walter Monroe, Iva Marie,
Charles Alvin, and Howard Marion Mikel all born between 1898 and 1910. And
most of them did marry into one other family.
