Please read the referenced book on the Virginia Colony
[<www.union-county.lib.in.us/USGenwebpage1.htm>]. In it I have
genealogical information on the family, and a written summation about
the Elder Jacob Miller family - including a paper presented about "Who
is Elder Jacob Miller?" I also include connected families of his children.

We have only one lead on his wife - sale of some land that might have
been his in Frederick Co MD - listing also an Elizabeth. The DAR
applicant for him incorrectly connected him to another Jacob Miller, who
married a Mary Goodwin - and places him hundreds of miles from his home
in Franklin Co VA during the Revolution. The Michael Miller book
incorrectly lists him as the youngest son of Michael. Based on known
siblings of Elder Jacob - who are not included as children of Michael
Miller - this cannot be true. We don't know his parents -although a
local tradition here in Indiana (among descendents of his children)
states his father as one of 3 brothers: Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -
immigrants (and he has all three names among his children).

The Elder Jacob Miller family and all known kin of his started from
Frederick and Washington Cos Maryland and adjoining Franklin Co
Pennsylvania (possibly they originated from the Coventry Church in
Chester Co PA and moved with the migration from there to this area) and
went south to Franklin Co VA, then scattered into Ohio and to Indiana.
Some seem to have gone into Kentucky and Tennessee, also. There are a
large number of Miller families in Pennsylvania, and many of them had
sons named Jacob. I am tracing at least 3-4 Miller families, and I know
others tracing 6, there may be some tracing more than that.
