Please pardon that last transmission; I had forgotten that I started the
message and went to send something else and off it went with the rest of
them! Since I have everyone's attention<g>, I had better finish up so
here is what I had meant to send......

Does anyone know ANYTHING about the following Isaac BREWER who was
mentioned in this way on page 169 (town of Albion, Noble Co, IN) of the
COUNTIES OF LA GRANGE AND NOBLE, INDIANA. HISTORICAL AND BIOGRAPHICAL.
(Chicago: F.A. Battey & Co., 1882)?

"The first dwelling was erected very probably by a squatter, named Isaac
BREWER, as early as 1842, on the farm of Abel BARNUM. BREWER was an
excellent man, and had suffered the misfortune of serving a short time in
the Ohio Penitentiary for a crime committed by another man, who had
contrived to saddle the responsibility and punishment on him. He did not
own the land but was suffered to reside thereon, until several years
after the county seat had been located at Albion. He cleared and put
under cultivation about twenty acres, and was informed that he could live
there until he chose to leave, which time was not far from 1850. He has
a daughter now living at Kendallville."

I don't know who Elizabeth married but in the 1850 census, there is an
Elizabeth BREWER listed on pg. 246 of Jefferson Twp, Noble Co., IN which
is where Albion is located but I haven't seen the entry. There is also a
Myron BREWER on pg. 251 of Jefferson Twp. and that is a Myron BREWER, age
24 and born in NY who was a clerk and living at the residence of a Dr.
William CLARK. Dr. CLARK is mentioned on pg. 170 as having come to
Albion in 1847. There is one other BREWER, a John F. on pg. 217, who
was living in Sparta Twp., Noble Co, IN in 1850.

I am wondering if these, or at least Elizabeth and Myron, could have been
the children or even siblings of the above Isaac BREWER? My Myron
Charles BREWER was a son of Isaac William and Julia Ann (__) BREWER and
was born in Binghamton, Broome Co, NY in January of 1827 which makes him
just the right age and birthplace for the Myron listed with Dr. CLARK. I
can find no records for Myron or his parents previous to this and this is
the only Myron BREWER that I can find in the 1850 U.S. Census. By spring
of 1860, Myron was living in a mining camp in the Nevada desert and died
shortly afterwards so nothing more is known of him. The information on
his birth and parents was obtained from his marriage record; he was
married only a couple of years before his death.

If anyone has any further information on any of these people; I would
love to hear from you!
