Subject: [B&D] Shipping lines operating out of Bristol

Does anyone know which shipping lines operated from Bristol Docks
around the early part of the 20th century or know where I'd be likely
to find out, please?

My grandfather in law (not James PONSFORD, t'other one) was a ship's
steward and my husband remembers seeing a photo of him in uniform but
can't remember what line it was. My husband thought it was P+O but
they didn't operate from Bristol. A search of P+O's records at the
Maritime Museum in London confirmed Henry Graham HELPS didn't work for
them.

It would be nice to find a copy of grandad in law's employment record
if at all possible.

Any help would be much appreciated.
