I didn't think I had any B surnames in my Bristol
families, but on closer inspection I see that my Gt
Grandmother's father Edward Shortman (Not sure whether
he was her actual father, though it says so on her
Marriage Cert.), had a brother, Isaac, who married
first a Mary Ann BEAL, and later a Mary BIRCH. So, in
case it is of any interest to any group members, here
are the details:

Though Isaac Shortman was born in Westbury-on-Trym,
the marriage to Mary Ann BEAL on 10th May 1846 was in
the Parish Church in the Parish of Woolastone,
Gloucestershire. Not sure whether this one comes
within the distance covered by this group.

Isaac Shortman, full age, Bachelor; Labourer;
Woolastone; Thomas Shortman; Gardener

Mary Ann Beal; Full age; Spinster; Woolastone; John
Beal; Labourer.

The witnesses were: Alfred BEAL, who made his mark,
and George Smith.

The second marriage was in the Parish Church of St
Nicholas, Bristol on 3rd August 1856

Isaac Shortman; Full Age; Widower; Labourer; King ?
St; Thomas Shortman; Gardener

Mary BIRCH; Full Age; Spinster; King ? St; John BIRCH;
Gardener

Witnesses: Edward ??? and Mary Ann Dier
