I've just looked up Dundry on my OS map CD, and it's very close to Bristol,
but presumably not in the Bristol Diocese as it's in Somerset? I did check
in the BAFHS CD for marriages covering that time.

>From Googling I see that LINSDALE does seem to be a Somerset name but it
seems strange for them to marry there when Mary Elizabeth is from
Westerleigh and Henry is from Bristol. Hmmm!

This has been a grey area for quite some time to me. Their daughter
Kerenhappuch
Payne LINSDALE was recorded on the 1841 census as being Kerenhappuck
Linsdale HALE with her HALE grandparents so she was a real puzzle. In fact I
realise from the archive that we exchanged messages on the LINSDALE name on
another list in September 2006 when I did think that it was just the child's
middle name (and presumably the enumerator in 1841 thought so too!)
