Dear Charani and Maggie

Are mining is a local industry it is also possible that James was a miner
rather than a minor - however, it may have been spelt by contemporaries!

Best wishes

Anne

Many thanks for that, Maggie.

It looks as though the James I want is the son of Cornelius and Grace
and not the James who was son of James and Elizabeth then. That in
turn means neither of the Joshuas are mine - or to be absolutely
correct, my husband's.

I'll recheck my notes and maybe pop over to Taunton and have another
look at the registers. The good thing about being there is that I
don't have to struggle with barely decipherable film. I can either
have a look at the orginals myself or ask one of the archivist for
assistance :))

It appears my PARFITTs aren't connected to those of other PARFITT
researchers - just as my PURNELLs aren't connected to any of the others :D
